“Fans of Matthew Sweet, Michael Penn, Crowded House/Neil Finn, The Verve Pipe, listen up. Like all those artists, Waits` tools are the bittersweet melody, lyrical depth and snappy, clean pop smarts. Robert Wait delivers a CD here that really shimmers from start to finish. This CD hits perfect stride between classic power pop and commercially accessible music. Wait has a colorful and vivacious command of gentle but always gripping pop melodies which breeze tenacious musicianship and gale force pop ethic. With an ethereal voice and an approach to crafting pop nuggets that often recalls the aforementioned Michael Penn and Matthew Sweet, the musical sensibilities are shared, as well. A combustible mix that works as the congenial, pure pop appeal connects w/cathartic guitar-driven melding(with some Richard Lloyd-like leads here and there blended into the mix). And thanks to Not Lamer Doug Bierly for making sure we did not miss this one, too! Extremely Highly Recommended.-- on Robert Wait's "Dear Significant Other” - Bruce Brodeen
“'When the rain comes down do you feel it's meant for you? When the pain goes 'round, don't you know I feel it too?' Beautifully dreary, poignantly tinged with remorse and melancholy, these moody, upbeat and downbeat songs of life's most exquisitely piercing moments will enchant hearts partial to emo, downtrodden Brit pop and soft male heart cries that linger in the darkened rooms of flickering hope. While simultaneously sparse but weighty, naked but substantial, Wait's songs touch the edges of quiet contemplation and ring with perfect turbulence." -- on Robert Wait's "Dear Significant Other” - Tamara Turner

“... one of this year's best indie releases. Very cool, hi-tech sort of modern rock with a unique edge. Good production, cool tunes, and exactly the right vibe. Highly recommended!" -- on Tin Man Alley's "Public Display Of Affliction” - Par Winberg
“We recently offered Robert Wait`s "Dear Significant Other" and many Not Lamers responded with resounding `more of this, please!". Here it is, Wait`s debut(of sorts) under the name Tin Man Alley. Like "Dear", this one is filled with more stylishly crafted, top-shelf production and confident flairs for Matthew Sweet, Crowded House/Finn Brothers, Owsley, Vertical Horizon and Michael Penn penned(sic) power pop. Tin Man Alley is over-run and filled up with an infectious combination of clever lyrics, cool melodies and harmonies, atmospheric loops and shimmering guitars. These are gorgeous, stinging songs but in an under-stated, mature manner, the arrangements sharp, hypnotic and the end result, a warm, magnificently intact debut. Extremely Highly Recommended. -- on Tin Man Alley's "Public Display Of Affliction” - Bruce Brodeen
